Obviously designed by the CEO's daughter (age 7). They're based in Tel Aviv, which also suggests that they may not be at the cutting edge of graphic design philosophy.

Good thinking Ade. It would be just the things to create lots of traffic. But I think it would create the most traffic among designers, and they could not overlook that logo to make the jump to customer status.

But the template - I think it's a stock template. That doesn't tell me anything special or give me any especially favorable impressions of the company... and I bet most designers would feel the same way.

Something doesn't seem right. Their site template might be bland, but it's not poorly designed along the same lines as the logo. And it's a public company (CHKP) with > $500M revenue per year, so it's not as if they don't have the resources to hire someone to design a better logo. There's got to be some hidden joke there, or maybe just a marketing effort to get people to talk about how horrible the logo is.

Maybe the CEO asked his niece to draw something pretty for him.. you know.. because she was dying or something. When she handed it to him, she said, Uncle Tim.. would you please use this for your software tech company's logo? Please!? it's my last dying wish!

You are the king of understatement, (or at least a grand duke of understatement) :)

It looks like the image was drawn in MS paint in about one minute.

Definitely not the most inspired logo - looks like no effort was put into the typeface (Helvetica, or similar - very original), and the pink and blue really do not complement each other.

To me, the computer image looks a little too much like Windows '95 clipart, and there's too many elements in the logo for it to be instantly recongisable.
